The letter was hand delivered to me yesterday. Reagan is skipping ahead to the next class at school. She's only been in her room since August, now she's moving up. Why? She's too mobile. She's moving up with the older kids - the bigger kids - because the girl has been crawling since August and pulling up since the same time. She's fast and she's too advanced to stay in her room so she's moving out of the baby room and into a room where they sit and eat meals together and they take naps together and they go outside together. Where is my baby? And what about leaving the teachers who have loved her since her first day of school last April? I know we'll love the new teachers, but leaving the ones we've had is so traumatic - for Chris and me anyway. Reagan isn't intimidated.
We visited her new class. The kids look so big. But since Reagan weighs about 17 pounds I suppose all of the kids are big compared to her. She's the littlest one in the room. Scary for us. But, at least she's a fast crawler, so I guess she can make a quick escape if a bigger kid comes after her to "play".
In addition to the promotion at school she also had her two bottom front teeth appear. So we had just learned about her moving up at school only to pick her up a few minutes later and see teeth. I think sometimes with Reagan if I blink I will miss it.
