The Sun Will Come Out Tomorrow

For the last few weeks we have all been ignoring the elephant in the corner.  No one wants to talk about it.  No one wants to think about losing our friends.  But it happens tomorrow.

Tomorrow is going to be a bad day.  I can tell you that because we have to pick up our friends at 6 am with all of their belongings and take them to the airport.  It's always a bad day when you take your friends to the airport with all of their belongings if they only have one-way tickets.  To Africa.

We attended Kenneth's graduation on Friday.  Chris and I have decided never to attend another graduation.  It's just too hard to watch your friends move on while you stay behind.  Chris tried his best to comfort me with a speech that was along the lines of I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings.  It didn't help.

All we can do is look at pictures from the last three years and remember everything.  But finally I just couldn't look at them anymore.  I just would rather not.  It hurts.  You can look - they're in the photo album.  So many memories, but right now I can't see anything but loneliness.  Maybe it's because it's raining.  Maybe when the sun comes out things will look better.  Maybe not.

Tomorrow will be a bad day.  Even if it's sunny..
